It’s old news by now that nearly 6.5 million LinkedIn passwords were likely stolen last week. The hacker posted the passwords online, unattached to usernames (how kind!), to boast this feat. Security firm Rapid7 released the following as part of an infographic summarizing the hack: This made me think: Would a potential employer’s opinion of… Continue reading Stolen Passwords: What do they say about professionalism?

The two groups, the twin engines of wealth-creation in our time, both donate substantially. But these rich are different from Fortune 500 CEOs. Hedge-fund and tech-sector donors aren’t content to write checks for established programs, says Bruce Flessner, a principal at Bentz Whaley Flessner, which advises non-profits on how to score grants. Rather, the hedgies… Continue reading
Sherry Turkle: Connected, but alone? A TED talk well worth watching. Please do share your thoughts in comments if you watch; I’m very curious to hear them as I haven’t fully formed my own. Cute and practical recycling. Why not?
This new Airbike is crazy. It’s made of printed nylon. Using a type of 3D printing technique called additive layer manufacturing (ALM), a high power laser is fired from above to melt a powdered material in a container. As the laser marks out a pre-programmed shape in the powder, the melted nylon solidifies making the… Continue reading
