I am reblogging this without having listened, because I know you’ll like it that much. After finding and posting set lists from the radio show, Steve took it an (awesome) step further and found an old episode. Listen in, and call 617-627-3900 or whatever if you want to talk to whoever’s DJing now.

A Nice NYC Subway Moment (yes, for real)
So often, I get ticked off at people selfishly taking up too much bench space, lecturing passengers about Jesus and our sins, people who lean on polls, people who think they can stand without holding anything and then bang into everyone, racists, pricks who exist just to be pricks, and subway littering.
BUT, today, I experienced for the third time in the last 2 months the most fantastic subway...

My short and sweet guide to gift giving.
A gift for someone should be something they really will appreciate now or in the future. It doesn’t have to be something they necessarily want, but something that will resonate at some point. That leaves the door wide open! Giving a gift shouldn’t be that hard!
But it is. Instead of putting in the extra thought or holding off on getting/making something until the right idea comes...

Instant Coffee: blast from the past
Steve and I used to do this 2 hour radio show on Wednesday mornings called Instant Coffee. The tapes have been destroyed, but my current review of old computer files produced these gems….outlines of two shows. I can’t tell you what half of it means, but that’s what makes it great. Enjoy, and I’m sorry you didn’t know us then, readers.

Found! One of my high school english essays.
I once wrote a paper for English class about my calculator. I don’t remember what the assignment was, but I always hated the tension between Math and English, and this was my 16 year old self’s way of fighting back. I found it on my hard drive and got a kick out of reading it. Enjoy!!!! [and yes, the title is authentic. ooof.]

Anonymous asked: Why I disagree with several of your points made about Glee, and my explanation:
- The Cheerios don't wear anything but their uniforms because it's meant to be ridiculously stereotypical. Plus their Jane Lynch's character is insane, so it would make sense for her to force her squad to do something like that.
- Whether or not it's funny is...

Why Glee is just as bad as I remember.
[based on Season 2 Episode 10]
- cheerleaders don’t have any clothing other than their uniforms.
- it’s not funny.
- students look like they’ve graduated college and now have creepy high school fetishes.
- not a single sentence sounds realistic.
- it’s creepy, like everyone sitting on santa’s leg and twirling his beard.
- overt dumb comments for a cheap laugh...

Don't miss Norman Rockwell: Behind the Camera
Seriously, one of the coolest exhibits ever. It’s at the Brooklyn Museum now through April 10, so no excuses! It’s incredible to see how so many of his paintings are collages of several different study photographs, whereas others are almost exact replicas. One of my favorites was of a guy looking at a painting, and the woman in the painting was painted from a fantastic separate...

Blackcurrants: a short and crazy history lesson
Blackcurrants are native to Europe and Northern Asia, and are delicious berries. What’s crazy is that growing them was outlawed in the US in the early 1900s because of white pine blister rust, which is bad for trees. The US government didn’t know the high antioxidant and high vitamin content at the time, and it wasn’t until 1966 that jurisdiction over the growth of blackcurrants...

Delicious and EASY Indian Recipe
Courtesy of my friend Lindsay, here’s her recipe* for Channa. It’s great, and she made it for me the other night, and I’ve been craving it since. If you make it, enjoy!
